XIAO TIANYU – HARMONY
“Harmony” combines not only the traditional Chinese way to make wooden furniture together with the skill to make a western style sofa, but also it is a combination of traditional and modern materials. The high seat-back keeps the occupant sitting up straight to maintain the appearance of power and authority, while the “western” pouf aims first for relaxation and comfort.
Working now as a freelance designer, the designer Xiao Tianyu graduated from Central Acedemy of Fine Arts, invited in June 2010 to be part of WUHAO Curated Shop’s “WOOD-SPRING” Installation, his work “Harmony” – series of 4 “poufs” are available in a limited edition of 8 sets. Harmony is welcomed not only by private clients but also by collectors and galleries from China and abroad.
In 2013, Harmony has been collected by M+ museum in Hong Kong.
