Traditional ceramic techniques require a fine understanding of the earth’s relationship to temperature. Wang Kaichuan’s ring is an experimental product that came about after a long series of tests and continual experiences to find the right proportion and combination of different materials at different temperatures. The square corners are not just a reflection of masculinity, but also serves to show the flexibility and ability to transform and mould this material. A semitransparent green-glaze porcelain was used to cover the engraved clay so that a logo pattern was just visible enough to allow the viewer to understand the beauty of the raw material.
